Barbecue

For many years, down on the river bank, we have held a barbecue to celebrate the occasion of His Majesty's Birthday on Friday, the 5th of December. This year will be no exception and we will be presenting a large barbecue, featuring both non-vegetarian and vegetarian food. It is open to everyone, whether you are staying at Mut Mee or not. We will also have a band playing live music.

As this is His Majesty The King's eightieth birthday, we hope the occasion will be all the more special to make it truly, "A Barbecue Fit For A King!"


Some years a marathon is organised for the weekend of the Kings Birthday, occasionally crossing the bridge to Laos.

Nong Khai extends a special warm welcome to foreigners wishing to enter these contests and will even make special arrangements for border passes, as necessary, to cross the bridge.

If you wish to enter, it is important to inform us around a week in advance. The closing date for foreigners for the December event is around the 25th of November.
